So many children are growing up with their days spent under ceilings and behind screens, farther and farther from the wind, the soil, and the living world that once shaped childhood. With that distance, something is being lost...

Our connection with the natural world, in which we live.

The ability to read the clouds before the rain arrives. To recognize the song of a returning bird. To know the trees that shade them, the plants beneath their feet, and the quiet rhythm of the changing seasons.

At Robbin's Brook Farm & Forest, we believe these things still matter.

​

Our Nature-Based Learning Program for homeschoolers invites children to step beyond the classroom walls and into the living classroom of the forest, fields, gardens, and streams. Through a carefully designed, year-long curriculum that follows the natural rhythms of the seasons, students build practical knowledge, scientific understanding, confidence, and a deep, lasting connection to the earth.

Designed specifically for multi-age learners, each session offers age-appropriate experiences for both elementary and middle school level learners. Children learn side by side, encourage one another, and grow within a supportive community as they explore topics such as:

• Identification of trees and plants

• Migratory birds and wildlife tracking

• Rocks, geology, and the natural landscape

• Insects and ecosystem

• Weather and seasonal changes

• Wilderness safety and survival skills

• Herbal identification and traditional uses

• Ecology, stewardship, and conservation

More importantly, they gain something difficult to teach through books alone: wonder, resilience, curiosity, and the quiet confidence that comes from restoring a connection to the natural world.

​

As a parent, we often ask ourselves what knowledge our children will truly need in the years ahead. The ability to observe, adapt, problem-solve, care for the land, and understand the world around them may be among the most valuable lessons of all.

​

Each student will receive their own field journal to document wildlife observations, weather patterns, plant identification, nature sketches, and discoveries throughout the seasons. By the end of the year, they'll have a personal keepsake of everything they've learned and experienced.

 

As this is a program for homeschoolers, children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
 

If you would like your child to join Robbin's Brook Farm & Forest's Nature-Based Learning Program, a one-time enrollment fee of $25 reserves your child's place in the program and includes their personal nature journal.

Class Schedule

Classes are held every Friday, with two 3-hour sessions available:

• Morning Session - from 9 AM until 12 PM

• Afternoon - from 1 PM until 4 PM

*Please indicate which time-slot you prefer on your child's registration form.

 

Additional "Family Days" are held quarterly on Saturday evenings to provide fun experiences for the whole family. Things like catching fireflies, storytelling around a campfire, and outdoor movie night are all ways to provide memorable experiences with family and community while also tying in to their curriculum. "Family Days" are optional but available as a bonus feature for students.

Tuition Cost

Tuition cost is $120 monthly, per student, due by the 15th of each month.

*Siblings of enrolled students under age 5 are free.

Robbin's Brook Farm & Forest is now an approved Education Freedom Account (EFA) vendor, allowing eligible families to use EFA funds toward our nature-based learning program and enrollment fee.

Enrollment is now open! Because our groups are intentionally small, enrollment is limited and spots are filling up quickly. Please be sure to register right away!

Class begins on September 18th, 2026
